Dream Catcher

Bad dreams beware, there is now a dream catcher hanging above my bed!

I made this using an un-loved and un-used embroidery hoop by weaving green yarn with the additions of some beads for decoration...

Pin Cushion

Owwww!!!!! Yet another pin jabs my finger and I vow to make a pin cushion, I have had enough...

Whilst rummaging through my nan's library of creative books looking for inspiration, I see a very simple little design for using up those annoying scraps of fabric by making a pin cushion - this is it, I MUST make this! (Would you believe it but I even manage to stand on a needle whilst making this, hmmmm isn't that ironic...)

Pirate Quilted Cushion

My son is going through the "pirate" stage so I thought I would get him a nice cushion for his bedroom in this theme. Upon looking around I did not find any that hit the spot so decided I would make my own for him... I found some good quality cotton and came up with the concept.

This cushion has been hand sewn and quilted as appropriate to the fabric designs.

Awesome Lego Cushion

Well, when I asked my son what kind of cushion he wanted me to make him, I was bemused by the "Lego" request. My first thought was how to do those much loved little bricks justice and after sleeping on it and having a good think, I came up with this concept. I measured real bricks and up-scaled, then I created templates, found cotton which was spot on colour wise and got cutting and sewing.

I decided to go with ad-hock colours as this is how my son plays with them and quilted in the round "tops" of the bricks. I am happy with the look and more importantly - so is he :-)
